My first blog about this is from two weeks ago, so I figured it’s time to give you an update. I had hoped to do it more regularly, but if I don’t have anything to share, it’s not really doing any good, right? So, an update.
First things first. I realized yesterday that my clicky account was not getting any information from my site. I did something wrong when setting it up, so that means I don’t have any data from visitors. I do know that I did get some visitors, since I had a comment on the blog a week ago, so that means people are finding me. I just don’t have any clue how many people are finding me, and how they found me.
What have I been doing in the mean time? Well, first of all, I found a schedule to post on the site. I post three days a week. For now it’s mostly PLR, however I created one post myself with links to recipes I love, and another one that is only an image with a quote. The first one is the one that got the comment, and I’m pretty sure that person came from twitter, since I recognized the name from someone I’m following, and who follows me back. The second one I posted on the social media accounts and is getting likes on twitter and is being retweeted. It shows that I have a lot of potential on twitter to get my “brand” for this site established.
I don’t have any sales through Amazon yet, but that’s normal. I only have a few links to Amazon in the informational articles. I am working on a first product review that I want to post somewhere next week. From that moment on, things will be getting serious 😉 Yesterday I focused on finding some more affiliate products. I went to shareasale.com and did a search for my niche, and joined a few that I found interesting. I set up Adrotate (a WP plugin) on my site, so I don’t have to put too much banners in my sidebar, but it rotates through them and only shows 2 at a time. When I find more affiliate programs, or I get approved for the ones that are still pending, I can easily add them without having too mess with too much code.
Social media: as I mentioned before, Twitter is showing me a lot of promise. I’m connecting with others in my niche, I’m getting retweets and likes and I’m sharing interesting content. For Twitter I’ll keep doing what I am doing right now. You can read here what I do to grow my followers: How To Get Followers On Twitter Free Step By Step. Of course, you need to be sharing something they want to read, but it’s a great guideline to help you grow your followers on any twitter account, in any niche. My next focus will be Facebook. I don’t have any likes yet (unless you count my own), so I’m doing some research on how to grow my likes without spending any (or at least not much) money. I know I can create ads and grow my followers that way, I’ve done it for other pages I have, but I want to do this as cheap as possible, so you can see what you can do without spending a lot of money.
So, that’s it for now, looking forward to the next update, I hope sometime next week.
